The Epoxy Sandwich hulls and decks are infused in female moulds in the Isle of Wight. Open class expertise goes into their fit out. Constructed using top quality SP Systems products and with their engineering and infusion experts optimising the process.

The Express 40 is a true ocean going thoroughbred. Her epoxy sandwich racing construction makes her strong, stiff, safe and fast The Express 40 can take you offshore or inshore with grace and speed. The stability and predictable behavior that make her an ideal shorthanded race boat can also make her an excellent express cruiser - enjoyable, powerful, beautiful.

Available as a CAT 1 or CAT 0 Class 40, the Express 40 excels when it comes to sailing or racing double-handed or single-handed. Designed by Owen Clarke she benefits from the input of thousands of miles of shorthanded and solo sailing experience. We are always happy to help and advise on equipment choice and race spec.

Below, her interior is light and functional. 4 berths, head and a chart table with easy electronics access. A central island keeps you secure and able to work in the roughest weather. Our advanced composite technology means a strong lightweight structure, and of course she is Class 40 compliant to the latest rules.

....Its amazing how little sail she actually needs to get going, Most of the time we are over canvassed and don’t really notice it until you put in a reef, and the speed goes up... Express 40 owner, mid Atlantic.
